Meet the Coaches

Coach Mark Kamba

Head Coach - Judo, Jiu-Jitsu, Boxing & MMA

Coach Mark Kamba is the Head Coach at the House of Combat, originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Martial arts have been a significant part of his life since he began training in Judo and Wrestling at the age of 9. Now a Third Dan Black Belt in Judo, Mark transitioned to Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) in 2016 and became a professional fighter in the Extreme Fighting Championship (EFC).

Mark’s journey has been one of growth and achievement, and he now dedicates himself to teaching what he knows best. He currently teaches Judo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Kickboxing, and Boxing, sharing his knowledge and building confidence in his students. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned fighter, Coach Mark is always close by, ready to guide you on your martial arts journey.

Coach Russell

Muay Thai

Coach Russell is an experienced Muay Thai coach with a passion for teaching authentic Thai Boxing and old-school body conditioning. Having trained extensively in Thailand and competed both as an amateur and professional fighter, he has produced 6 South African K-1 and Muay Thai champions.

Russell won the South African K-1 Championship in 2005 and represented South Africa at the SAKA World Championships in Greece. In 2019, he was internationally accredited as a Muay Thai Class C Coach by Grandmaster Kevin Lloyd.

At House of Combat, Russell teaches Muay Thai and Girls Muay Thai classes, focusing on developing technique, strength, and confidence to help athletes reach their full potential.

Coach Charles Rumhuma

Boxing & Kickboxing

Coach Charles Rumhuma is an experienced and passionate trainer specializing in boxing, kickboxing, and overall fitness. Originally from Zimbabwe and based in Cape Town, Charles has a strong background in combat sports, having earned a bronze medal in his first national martial arts competition in 2014. Since then, he’s trained professional fighters and amateurs alike, including EFC fighter Fafa Dwama Killo Mombele and Dominic Maforimbo.

With experience at top gyms such as Mojo Boxing and Hardnox Box Fit, Charles focuses on helping athletes achieve their peak physical and mental fitness, whether preparing for competition or improving overall health. His training combines technique, strength, and discipline to push every athlete to their full potential.
